Whale Talk and Sightings

Whale Talk and Sightings

Β

Meet, Tisa! Our knowledgeable guide along the coastline of Washington State.

We will be exploring the infamous orcas in their natural habitat, she will dive deep into the management of these animals, and how our infrastructure affects their welfare.Β

Tisa:

"Quick check to be sure the T68Cs didn’t get ahead of me. Such a beautiful location from here. Lol I just need some fins in that light on the water."

Β

Β

How do you identify the whales you are seeing?

Β

This is the identification chart supplied by Tisa.

Hood Canal...
In case anyone missed the posts yesterday, the group that was spotted from Mukilteo -> Edmonds was confirmed as our T68Cs, so we are currently whale-less in the hood. Our T65As do love this area, so hopefully they will come visit us soon.
Puget Sound...
Our T68Cs were last spotted yesterday afternoon up North in the Port Susan (Camano Island) area. I'll share a map for those that are unfamiliar with our areas. Just a matter of time now til someone gets some eyes on them today.
There were some sightings of others in the area a few days ago... but no sightings on those since then.
Gray Whale - no sightings on Little Patch yesterday, but he is probably still swimming around the Whidbey area.
